TZM alloy (molybdenum-zirconium-titanium alloy) is one of the common superalloys in molybdenum-based alloys. TZM alloy has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, high elastic modulus, low vapor pressure, good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, strong corrosion resistance, good high temperature mechanical properties, etc., and has a wide range of applications in many fields. Its common preparation methods include arc casting and powder metallurgy.
The arc melting and casting method mainly uses arc melting and casting pure molybdenum material, and adds a certain amount of alloy elements such as Ti and Zr according to the weight percentage, and then adopts the conventional casting method to obtain TZM alloy products. The powder metallurgy method is the most commonly used preparation method, mainly using high-purity molybdenum powder, TiH2 powder, ZrH2 powder, graphite powder, and mixing them uniformly in proportion, forming by cold isostatic pressing, and then sintering at high temperature to obtain TZM blanks . After the billet is forged at high temperature, hot rolled at medium temperature, annealed and polished, the finished TZM can be obtained.
Among them, TZM alloy products manufactured by powder metallurgy process have stable chemical composition and good mechanical and physical properties. Moreover, using this method can save the use cost of large-scale manufacturing equipment, shorten the production cycle, reduce energy consumption, double the production capacity and yield, greatly reduce the preparation cost of TZM alloy products, and further improve their cost performance.
