Zirconium Alloy Piping is a solid solution of zirconium or other metals, which is a common subclass with the trademark of zirconium alloy. Zirconium has a very low thermal neutron absorption cross section, high hardness, ductility and corrosion resistance. One of the main uses of zirconium alloy is in nuclear technology, as a cladding for fuel rods in nuclear reactors, especially water reactors. The typical composition of nuclear grade zirconium alloy is more than 95% zirconium and less than 2% tin, niobium, iron, chromium, nickel and other metals. These metals are added to improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
