High Density 90WNiFe Tungsten Alloy Fishing Weight For Fly Tying

Tungsten Alloy Fishing Weight is a kind of tungsten alloys, as they weigh more than twice as much as iron or steel. High specific gravity tungsten alloys are usually refractory metals with two-phase complexes consisting of W-Ni-Fe, W-Ni-Cu and even W-Ni-Cu-Fe. Rare earths and/or other metals such as cobalt, molybdenum and chromium are added to some tungsten alloys. Tungsten alloys have a very high melting point, are twice as dense as steel and more than 50 percent heavier than lead.

What is Tungsten Alloy Fishing Weight?

Nickel, iron and/or copper are used as metal binder bases to hold fragile tungsten particles together, making tungsten alloys strong and easy to work with. Ferric nickel Nickel is the most commonly used additive with a ratio of 7Ni:3Fe or 8Ni:2Fe (by weight).
