Product Description

WNiCu Tungsten Alloy Electrodes ASTM B777 High Hardness

Tungsten Alloy Electrodes are tungsten based alloy materials (tungsten content is generally 80% - 98%) and a small amount of nickel, iron, copper, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium and other elements. The density of high specific gravity tungsten alloy can reach 15.20~18.70g/cm3, which is also called high specific gravity tungsten alloy or high density alloy material. Because the weight of tungsten alloy is more than twice that of steel.

What is Tungsten Alloy Electrodes?

  • Heavy tungsten alloys are mainly divided into two series: nickel iron, nickel nickel, nickel copper, and even tungsten. In contrast, o-ni-fe alloy has good mechanical properties and plays an important role in various fields of national defense industry and national economy. It is a very important new military material in the national defense industry, and has gradually expanded to various civil industries.

  • The tungsten content of tungsten alloys ranges from 90% to 98%, which is the reason for their high density (16.5 to 19.00g/cc). Nickel, iron and / or copper are used as metal binder substrates to fix fragile tungsten particles together, making tungsten alloys ductile and easy to use. Iron nickel nickel is the most commonly used additive, and its ratio is 7ni:3fe or 8ni:2fe (by weight).

Application of Tungsten Alloy Electrodes

  1. Tungsten alloys with high specific gravity are used to make tool shanks, especially boring bars.

  2. Tungsten alloy with high specific gravity is used as counterweight material for high crankshaft of small chain saw engine.

  3. The electrodes of EDM and electrochemical machine tools are also made of high specific gravity tungsten.
