Product Description

Overview

Inconel 625 Welding Wire is a high-performance nickel-based alloy welding wire with a nickel matrix and containing 20%-23% chromium, 8%-10% molybdenum, and 3.15%-4.15% niobium. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and excellent weldability. It is widely used in high-end applications such as aerospace, marine engineering, and petrochemical engineering. It is particularly well-suited for weld repair and fabrication in high-temperature, highly corrosive environments, effectively extending the service life of equipment. Our company has professional technicians and advanced production equipment, enabling us to provide customers with cost-effective wire. Please feel free to email us for a more accurate quote.

Inconel 625 Advantages

  • It maintains stable strength and toughness in high-temperature environments exceeding 650°C, exhibits strong creep resistance, and exhibits excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, making it suitable for welding high-temperature components such as aircraft engines and high-temperature furnaces.
  • The resulting weld metal exhibits high strength and good ductility at room temperature, and maintains excellent toughness even at low temperatures, preventing brittleness due to excessively low temperatures.
  • It exhibits excellent chemical stability, resisting a wide range of corrosive media, including strong acids such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, as well as seawater and chloride solutions. It is widely used in the chemical and marine engineering fields.
  • The arc is stable during welding, resulting in beautiful welds that are less susceptible to defects such as porosity and cracks. Furthermore, it is highly adaptable to the base material, capable of welding similar nickel-based alloys as well as dissimilar materials such as stainless steel and carbon steel.

Inconel 625 Welding Wire Application

1. Aerospace Sector

  • Engine Critical Components: Alloy 625 Wire is employed in the manufacture or repair of vital components for aero-engines and spacecraft. Examples include engine combustion chambers, turbine blade outer rings, and high-temperature ducting.
  • High-Temperature Structural Components: Suitable for assembling high-temperature sections of aero-engines, ensuring stable operation under extreme conditions.
  • Spacecraft Structures: Utilized in fabricating aerospace structural components designed to withstand extreme temperature and pressure environments.

2. Petrochemical and Natural Gas Sector

  • Alloy 625 Welding Wire is primarily employed for welding corrosion-resistant and high-temperature equipment. This includes welding reactors and heat exchangers, as well as pipelines and valves for transporting acidic oils and gases, wellhead assemblies, and downhole tools. It ensures long-term stable operation within high-temperature, high-pressure corrosive media.

3. Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding

  • Seawater Cooling Systems: High corrosion-resistant welding for pumps, valves, and propeller shafts.
  • Offshore platform equipment: Corrosion-resistant welding for offshore platform components, particularly those exposed to seawater and subjected to high mechanical stresses
  • Corrosion-resistant components: Critical parts requiring resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, such as fasteners and seawater-contacting elements

4. Nuclear Energy Sector

  • Inconel 625 Wire is employed for welding core equipment in nuclear power plants. This includes pressure vessels for nuclear reactors, heat transfer tubes in steam generators, and pressurizers. These components must operate stably over extended periods under high-temperature, high-pressure, and radiation-exposed conditions.

5. Chemical Processing Equipment

  • Employed in fabricating high-purity, highly corrosion-resistant process equipment. Examples include reactors for producing organic acids and strong alkalis, sterile mixing vessels in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and pipelines for conveying high-purity reagents. The weld metal exhibits exceptional purity, preventing media contamination while withstanding exposure to diverse, highly corrosive chemicals.

Process

① Select high-purity nickel-based alloy raw materials to ensure that impurity content is below standard requirements to avoid affecting the corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance of the welding wire.

② Heat and melt the carefully proportioned raw materials in a vacuum furnace to ensure uniform mixing of all elements and precisely control the chemical composition of the welding wire.

③ After cooling, the molten alloy is cast into cylindrical ingots, which are then rolled into larger diameter wire through hot forging or hot rolling.

④ A multi-pass cold drawing process is used to gradually reduce the wire billet to the target diameter. Intermediate annealing is required to eliminate work hardening, restore plasticity, and prevent breakage during the drawing process.

⑤ Solution heat treatment dissolves precipitated phases in the alloy, homogenizes the microstructure, and improves the high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and weld toughness of the welding wire after welding.

⑥ Surface pickling and polishing ensure surface quality and extend service life.

⑦ Rigorous quality inspection, including dimensional accuracy testing, visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, and chemical composition analysis, ensures compliance with industry standards.
