Product Description
Overview
TZM molybdenum alloy rod is a high-temperature alloy product based on molybdenum, with additions of approximately 0.5% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and trace amounts of carbon. It exhibits excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, weldability, and machinability, making it suitable for manufacturing critical components used in extreme high-temperature environments across sectors such as metal hot working, aerospace, the nuclear industry, high-temperature equipment, electronic devices, and medical applications.

Application
1. Metal hot processing field
TZM Rod is the core material for aluminum and copper alloy and cast iron die casting molds, especially suitable for forming high-melting-point metals. Its high creep resistance can significantly extend mold life and prevent product accuracy loss caused by deformation at high temperatures.
Used for hot extrusion piercing processes of stainless steel and other metals, maintaining structural stability in high-temperature environments above 1200°C, avoiding perforation failures caused by softening.
2. Aerospace sector
TZM Molybdenum Alloy Rod, as a material for rocket nozzle throat linings, combustion chamber nozzles, and gas pipes, can withstand extreme temperatures (above 1400°C) and high-speed gas scouring generated by rocket propellant combustion, while its low thermal expansion coefficient ensures dimensional stability of components.
TZM Rods are used to manufacture special engine valve bodies, thermal protection system brackets, and more, meeting the structural strength requirements of aerospace vehicles in high-temperature environments.
3. High-temperature equipment and stove manufacturing
Molybdenum High Temperature Alloy TZM Rod serves as a core component of thermal isostatic presses (HIPs), including insulation screens, heating element brackets, and high-pressure chamber structures, maintaining stable performance at temperatures above 1500°C and high pressures of 100-200MPa.
Manufactures key components of high-temperature sintering furnaces such as sintering boat vessels, furnace supports, and heating elements, suitable for high-temperature sintering processes of ceramics, cemented carbide, and other materials.
4. Other applications
Used for high-power electron tube gates and X-ray tube rotating anodes for medical devices.
Used to manufacture heat exchanger components, radiation shielding structures, and high-temperature fuel element support frames, its corrosion resistance and neutron radiation resistance surpass those of traditional materials.
In glass melting furnaces, it is used as an electrode material and directly contacts molten glass at 1300°C, ensuring long-term stable operation due to its corrosion resistance.
Processing
Mixing powder → Isostatic pressing for blanks → Vacuum high-temperature sintering (sintered blanks) → High-temperature forging / extrusion billet opening → Multi-pass sub-temperature forging / hot rolling reduction → Stress-relief annealing → Turning/grinding finishing → Inspection and warehousing
