Product Description
Tungsten Copper Rod
Copper tungsten is a high-strength composite of two metals: copper and tungsten. It combines the benefits of conductivity of copper with the heat and wear resistance of tungsten.he material combines the properties of both metals, resulting in a material that is heat-resistant, ablation-resistant, highly thermally and electrically conductive, and easy to machine.
Tungsten Copper Rod is used when a product or part needs to have a high heat resistance, low thermal expansion and high electrical or thermal conductivity. Tungsten copper alloys are useful for their low thermal expansion, high wear resistance, low consumption, high arc resistance, and high thermal and electrical conductivity. These tungsten copper alloys have a wide variety of applications from resistance welding electrodes, EDM electrodes, heat sinks, and others. Copper Tungsten Alloy ApplicationsTungsten copper alloy is used to make engines and electrical devices. It is also used in the fields of aviation and spaceflight. Electrodes, refractory parts, heat sinks, rocket parts and electrical contacts are all made out of tungsten copper alloy.(3). Parts are made from the CuW alloy by pressing the tungsten particles into a desired shape, sinteringthe compacted part, then infiltrating with molten copper. Sheets, rods and bars of the alloy are available as well.
Tensile strength, used to indicate the material's overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks. Corrosion resistance describes the material's ability to prevent deterioration caused by atmosphere, moisture, or other medium. Wear resistance indicates the ability to prevent surface damage caused by contact with other surfaces. Hardness (commonly measured as indentation hardness) describes its resistance to permanent surface deformation.
